ARTIST STATEMENT
I am captivated by architectural forms and how light and shadow transform them. My drawings capture this while maintaining a sense of the materiality of graphite. I use smooth blending and precise lines to create architectural illusions that evoke both a sense of absence and presence within my work. My spaces appear to be impossible in the real world. I draw inspiration from James Turrell’s early printmaking that captured light projections in black and white. Grayscale helps me focus only on depth and tones - my work is like a visual meditation on light and dynamic form.
